How to Become an AAM Platinum Member
Step 1: Prepare for Board Certification
(download study guide and gather credentials)
AAM Platinum Trainer Candidates will be asked to provide industry credentials in a digital format and take a rigorous certification exam online. Candidates are allowed to use the study guide while taking the exam. Please prepare the following items for upload prior to initiating the exam:
- Current Member: Must be Gold Certified and a current member of AAM
- Proof of Experience: 4 Years Industry Experience (demonstrated through training certificates or business license)
- Continued Education: Proof of 15 Hours of Continued Education within the most recent 12 months
- Proof of Insurance: Policy must include General Liability, Professional Liability and Trainer’s Coverage. Coverage must be at least $1M aggregate/$1M per occurrence/$1M products completed.
- Summary of Curriculum: Platinum Trainers must offer a Primary Training Course of 100 hours. A 1 page summary of Curriculum Content which details the amount of time dedicated to each topic and time allotted for live models
- Full Curriculum: Digital copy of the Primary Training curriculum used for instruction. If curriculum also includes textbooks, please also include details on which textbooks.
Credentials may be uploaded as PDF, JPG, or other photo file.
Step 2: Join Online
(make payment, upload credentials, complete assessment)
Become a member with just a few, simple steps using our simple, online tool. We’ll walk you through completing payment, uploading your digital credentials, and submitting the exam. Candidates should make payment only if they are ready to immediately begin the exam. The exam will begin once payment transaction is completed and the fees will be forfeited if the exam is not completed within the allotted time. The time limit for the exam is three hours and the fee is $300.

Your first year of membership is included in the exam fee as a bonus gift to you.
