Permanent Makeup Artists around the world are coming together to create a positive and empowering support network for breast cancer survivors. If you’ve ever wanted use your professional skills to give back to the community, then register today to participate in the AAM Day of Hope 2021 event.
What is Day of Hope?
Day of Hope is an amazing community event where PMU Artists all over the world come together on one specific day of the year to offer complimentary areola services to breast cancer survivors in their local area. Inspired by original event, hosted by The Beau Institute in New Jersey, global Artists now have the chance to participate in this extraordinary event with the American Academy of Micropigmentation.
Why do we come together for Day of Hope?
With more than 25 years of PMU experience, Rose Marie Beauchemin-Verzella has had the opportunity to meet with many survivors of breast cancer. In speaking with them about their experiences, it became apparant that there quite often an obstacle preventing them from completing their breast reconstruction journey. From financial issues to the emotional mindset of going through yet another procedure, these women were resigned to living with the painful reminder of their mastectomies. And so, Day of Hope, a day to provide women in need with dimensional, realistic areola tattoos was born. With this event, Areola Artists have been able to provide breast cancer survivors with a path to regaining the confidence and familiarity that they once had.
How Can I Participate?
Artists who would like to volunteer to participate in this event are welcome to donate any number of areola services, from a single appointment to one entire calendar day of clients. AAM membership is not required, any areola artist can register to participate for free! Once you have registered, you will receive helpful recommendations for setting up this event. We’ve collaborated with Beau institute to create simple and clear materials that explain how to efficiently organize this event at your studio. We’ll share recommendations on how to locate clients in need of this service, things to do on the day of the service, and even follow up activity reminders once the event is over. We make planning easy so that you can concentrate on being with your clients. Register today to be part of this very special event.

What if I Am Not Trained in Areola Procedures?
Consider joining in with one the following alternative opportunities:
1) Apply for a Scholarship to learn areola PMU with Beau Institute!
Beau Institute will be selecting one breast cancer survivor to learn how to perform an areola tattoo in their next class. Applicants must be a professional permanent makeup Artist or a medical professional to qualify. Applications are due September 17, 2021.
2) Volunteer to help an areola Artist in your area!
Look for participating Artists to see if you can team up on this event. Participating Artists may need assistance with event coordination on or before the day of the event. Share your expertise and make a PMU BFF.
3) Support one of these amazing non-profit organizations with a financial contribution!
